My i3 has the 20″ tires without winter tires, you will need to use Traction Control, drive carefully and slower than you probably used to. I don feel like the car is going to lose control on straights; its mostly in turning in snow/ice and definitely resistant braking gives the whole car a shimmy slide move which is disconcerting. My rear wheel drive M3 with blizzaks was almost like driving with an SUV in snow much more control.

I’d avoid the AD dealership at all costs, cars might have longer warranty and service contracts / more options but service is garbage; they will up sell you random stuff and not take responsibility for their own mistakes. We tried all the infant seats that were suggested as being “good for small cars” none worked till we came across the Cybex Aton. It fits great in my tiny back seat. Not only does the handle stay in the up position for driving but it is actually a good inch or more shorter front to back than the chicco. The base is also hands down the EASIEST to install either either seatbelt or latch. Seriously, I did it 8 months prego in my tiny car and the thing is more rock solid than any other I’ve seen. Also, the fabric is much nicer IMO (in my opinion) and the seat is one of the lightest out there. It also is capable of fitting on many travel system attachments.

The cheapest SUV we could get was a BMW X3 (I’m kind of excited about this!). The X5 was also an option, but I didn’t think we needed the extra space though now I’m second guessing that. Will the Sureride fit RF (rear facing) in the X3? I’m very opposed to FF him yet, even temporarily. He is still RF (rear facing) at home in an Advocate G3 in my car and a Marathon G3 in DH’s. The Sureride was purchased specifically for travel after reading other posts on this board. I didn’t want to mess with noodles for a good install with our Scenera back up seat, though I have gotten good at the noodle less install of the Scenera since then. Thoughts?

BMWs of this era were probably the best touring bikes available at the time. Many accessories were available including fairings, oversized fuel tanks, and luggage. Countless miles have been put on R60/2s, and they just keep going. The shaft final drive was quite unusual for its day, though not uncommon today. Parts availability for BMW motorcycles is generally good compared to more rare machines. These bikes are not too difficult to find today. I hope to own one myself someday.
