Does anyone have suggestions for good, fuel efficient winter vehicles? And is owning two vehicles worth it for the large amount of fuel savings (keeping in mind we’re in Ontario where gas/diesel is more expensive, although prices haven’tbeen too bad as of late!) We already spend about $600 a month on fuel as it is, we live in a small town and have to drive 40+ min to get anywhere.
I love my Britax. I decided to go for the Boulevards because the extra side impact protection was really important to me and the possibility of keeping baby rearfacing longer than Roundabout because of the extra length. I am amazed. Since I have friends who still have kids rearfacing at 3 in Blvd, I am not overly concerned. If my son outgrows it before I am ready to turn around I will research other options at that point. You cannot go wrong with any of the Birtax seats.

I picked up an older Sigma 70 200/2.8 HSM (non OS/VR) for actual shooting. I always at 1/500 or higher so I don really need OS/VR and the 2.8 glass is heavy enough that the image in the viewfinder doesn jump around too much so I went older and cheaper on the lens when I realized the 70 300VR wasn going to cut it. If you can spend a bit more, you can get a newer version with OS and the newer ones should also get better wide open with each generation (there four or five versions of the Sigma 70 200/2.8). One weird quirk of my version is the AF locks up and doesn work in video mode but I never shoot video anyway with it because it too jumpy without VR.
Meanwhile BMW has that plastic aluminum everywhere and the black plastic everything. I’d bet it’s the most plastic of the 4 brands. But don’t take my word for it. The CEO is on the verge of being fired for low profits and the answer has been lower overhead and cut motorsports.

It’s not meant to be a family car, it’s meant to be a fun car that can barely fit four people. I can hold a lot in my car, it just requires a bit of effort. In short, promoting hybrids at the price ranges of BMW cars is pretty insulting. It might have made a lot of sense 10 years ago but now it too late to claim the batteries are too expensive for them. Their customers could very well be against EVs but they also failed to promote their offerings to outside buyers that didn care for BMW to begin with. They made no good EV thus the demand is low, they blame the demand being low to justify why EVs aren practical right now. That just insane logic, it only natural for buyers to not be interested in products that are not currently relevant, let alone future proof. Who among i3 buyers feel ready for 350 kW chargers and long distance traveling or highway cruising around the country?
