By now, hopefully, that WD 40 or whatever you use has soaked the grim years off of your oxygen sensor and you can unscrew it. You can slide your 02 sensor socket on and either use an adjustable wrench on the top or a 3/8th socket wrench to unscrew it. You can also remove the heat shield if you want more room or you just want to pull it off with your adjustable wrench. With the heat shield off,I could get the sensor out easy; with the heat shield on, the only way I could get it out was with the 02 sensor socket.

I think AC only is fine, but for me, the i3 isn a primary car it our commuter/secondary car. if lots of miles need to be driven, we drive something else/use different transportation. stopping every hour for 30 minutes would be a shitty experience (and you would have to know the stations exist).

I see this problem like the housing problem. People without houses want cheaper places to live. Everyone wants more housing but no one wants them to build it near them. Point is unchecked immigration would lead to a lot of issues that the people pushing for it won have to deal with so they are ok with it.

The car: a BMW i3. It has only two seats in the back so width isn’t an issue, but front to back size is. Also, the back doors are suicide doors, so I’ll need to be able to undo the latch connectors and pivot the seat 90 degrees to remove my child while he’s rear facing. I’m concerned that when the seat reaches its upper limits for latch and we need to switch to belt installation, it will get too difficult to operate.

Thanks for the reply. I curious, when you say your sons “love their screen time”, can you give more detail? I ask because my son basically begs constantly for it. On weekends for example he basically just follow me around begging until I get frustrated enough that I tell him if he asks again he won get any screen time for the rest of the weekend. If he in front of a screen, I swear I could walk away for 10 hours and he just sit there playing. My daughter eventually gets bored and will look for something else to do, and she never begs. I had some concern my son desire for screens is outside of what normal, but I don have any comparison so I don know if that true.

Nobody really knows how Lexus did it, but the fast revving 4.8 Litre V10 in the LFA was so fast that they had to replace a traditional rev counter with dials with an electronic one. We tried all the infant seats that were suggested as being “good for small cars” none worked till we came across the Cybex Aton. It fits great in my tiny back seat. Not only does the handle stay in the up position for driving but it is actually a good inch or more shorter front to back than the chicco. The base is also hands down the EASIEST to install either either seatbelt or latch. Seriously, I did it 8 months prego in my tiny car and the thing is more rock solid than any other I’ve seen. Also, the fabric is much nicer IMO (in my opinion) and the seat is one of the lightest out there. It also is capable of fitting on many travel system attachments.

So I hate to do this because I tried to use this exact argument as to how it not so much Tesla leading the charge into a BEV future, but governments, but so far (unless something had changed in the past 6 months) none of those countries have any sort of signed and ratified legislation those dates are just promises/pledges. Maybe they will happen, maybe they won It likely depend on the feasibility of actually banning ICE/PHEV vehicles at the time. I suspect those who set 2025 dates will push those back. I suspect those who set 2040 dates might be ok. That said, 20 years of more PHEV and less pure ICE is absolutely a good step and absolutely part of the solutions.

You put off running an errand just so you can run it in the i3 instead of the old gas car. I got a supercharged jag in my garage that gathers dust, because frankly, I rather be driving the i3. I admit that I a Mercedes fanboy and when I started off my car quest I was dead set on a W204. Test drove a few and even got to test newer CLA and C300, while I connected much more with these cars and prefer the interior of these over them all. the driver feel was still just as bad (but I expected it).
