I been crazy happy with the fuel economy I gotten so far, my best tank was 52mpg, it was pure highway miles. Around town with mixed driving I get 38 40mpg. I do have alot of sprinter diesel customers with the 3.0 V6 diesel, most of their issues are emissions related and can be very expensive (if they don travel any to Cali, its pretty much mandatory to delete) other then that, the classic throttle petal issues, about $600 to $900 depending on the year, oil issues with over heating (The 3.0 V6 is like the old Jeep 4.0 when it comes to the oil issues, fantastic engine, runs forever, but if it ever goes over 15 20 degrees over its normal operating temperature, there is no forgiveness, that motors done, $9,000 to $14,000 for a new engine) and the timing chain stretching problems.

I mean, at the end of the day there no right answer. But, I will say that the market has spoken. I could buy a Golf R and go enjoy it by myself 96% of the time. The other 3.9% of the time it just me and one passenger in front. And the other 0.1% of the time it can carry people in the back, or dogs, or anything. Mostly no one is buying a Civic Type R just because it a more practical version of a car that can carry a baby seat, lol. They buying it because it the best car for them in their class, and it just happens to have 4 doors. Just because you have the back doors doesn mean that you have to use them.
Furthermore, I’m curious as to how people in Europe and other countries (where the average vehicle isn’t an SUV or larger) get by with their car seats. I’m assuming their “standards” must be much lower because how else would they be able to fit American sized car seats in their small cars?
So, given that, I think ours is an excellent seat and great for ERF. It’s easy to install in every vehicle I’ve e ER tried. The no re thread harness is worth every penny. I love how padded and plush the cover is. I like that it has the good LATCH connectors and not the flimsy seeming ones like on many other seats. No, it isn’t the ideal ERF seat for some kids, but it’s a great seat for many others!
Does anyone have suggestions for good, fuel efficient winter vehicles? And is owning two vehicles worth it for the large amount of fuel savings (keeping in mind we’re in Ontario where gas/diesel is more expensive, although prices haven’tbeen too bad as of late!) We already spend about $600 a month on fuel as it is, we live in a small town and have to drive 40+ min to get anywhere.
In many ways, it feels like a prototype. If you more like a pioneer, you love this. However that being said, I would recommend buying used with a decent amount of original warranty miles remaining. I don believe my trusty independent BMW shop is able to service so you going to be stuck with the dealer rates and attitudes. In that light, I be careful with the extent of coding on your own just so that you don void a warranty.
